How to post pics using the new forum features (XenForo)

Hey there! Just thought it was time for a post describing how to use the new forum features to post images. There are a couple of ways to post images now. Using an image that's already posted on the web somewhere or an image that is located on your computer hard drive.

If you want to post an image that is already on the web, the easiest way is to use the "Image" button which is just to the right of the smiley face "Smilies" button on the toolbar just above where you type your post. When using this Image button, it will ask for a URL. This is where you would put the URL to the actual image (ending in jpg, gif, etc). Take care not to use a URL that has any other extension (the last 3 letters after a period.); in other words using a URL with .html, .htm, or .asp, etc are not allowed.

For example, let's say you want to post just the first image from this imgur.com album because she looks just like your wife:

    http://imgur.com/a/5n5Ln

If you click that link you will see three images. As we said you only want to post the first image, but not the other two images. If you tried to use the above URL to post the image, it would not work even it it was just one image. Instead, you can right click the first image and select something along the lines of "copy link address" or "copy image location" (Those could be slightly different depending on the browser you use!). You should now be able to come to your post here, select the "Image" button as described above, then right click in the text box that pops up and select "Paste". It should paste this URL: http://i.imgur.com/BT5IsfD.jpg right into that text box. If it does, then hit insert. When you finish your post the image will appear just like this:

In regard to posting an image you have on your hard drive, you have to use the "Upload a File" button at the bottom, just below the text box you type your post in. After hitting "Upload a File", hit "Browse" and locate the image on your computer. Once you select it and hit "Open" it should automatically add it do the "Attached Files" section just under the "Upload a File" button. From there you can insert a "Thumbnail", which would look like this:

    HcoY2IE.jpg

Using a Thumbnail is MUCH more preferred as users can click on the Thumbnail to see the full images. Or you can just insert the "Full Image", which would look like this:

    HcoY2IE.jpg

Again, it's much better just to use the Thumbnail and this shows you why to a smaller extent. When people post HUGE pics of their dicks, etc it can get to be a bit much using the Full IMage.

I hope that helps you in your quest to share pics with us.

Remember, if you post fakes or pics that are NOT your wife/yourself/etc then you should state it as such. A good example would be "This is what my wife looks like" or "This pic looks like her bull fucking her". If you try to post pics that aren't your own and pass them off as your own you will be busted and labeled a fake/fraud. I hope that makes sense.

Any questions, leave them below! Also, feel free to practice posting pics in this thread if you want.

I'll need a little more detail on what your problem is to be able to help you. What method are you using to attempt to post an image? Is there a thread you can point me to that you've started where you've attempted to upload an image?

I am using the upload method. When I attach it, it does not stay. It goes back to empty.

Saturn, I also notice that it goes back to empty when I upload a photo...and I just have to trust it is there or I end up with 3 or 4 copies of the same image and then need to delete them. It does not giving me the option to do full image but I can do that after by editing. It is working, just not fluidly and I had to get Jeff to help the first couple of times. Deanna

Saturn, I wasn't very clear, I was having a private chat with another member and couldn't upload an image from my computer. Again thanks for your help if you can. GTR

    GTR,

When replying to a "private conversation" you should still see an "upload a file" button, as well as the other toolbar just above the text entry where you type. If those don't work, try hitting "More Options..." which takes you to the full editor.

Let me know if that helps.

Saturn, I have not a clue why the "upload a file" button isn't showing itself when I'm in a private conversation, including after I hit the "More Options tab. I am currently in a private conversation with jean.soumis, if you can-please look in on it I'm confident that jean won't mind either, we would both like to be able to post some private pictures to each other. Thanks for your help. GTR
